Industrial bridge crane model

American Cranes and Equipment offers a wide range of complex bridge crane systems and heavy lifting tool solutions, including overhead bridge cranes and a variety of workstation bridge cranes.bridge crane for sale

Tower-top overhead cranes are often used in industrial environments to provide reliable stability and efficiency to manage loads or loads of various loads, thereby increasing the extreme load.

Bridge cranes are available in a variety of styles and are designed for heavy duty lifting and can easily handle weights of 100 tons or more.

1.Workstation Crane: Running on a closed track, this type of crane is known for its consistent ease of operation and omnidirectional movement.

2.Top bridge cranes: Overhead bridge cranes can be used for single and double beams. The single girder bridge crane operates with a beam that supports the trolley and hoist. The double girder bridge crane relies on the extra support of the two bridges to provide a better headroom than a single girder crane.

The two main bridge crane configurations are referred to as “top run” and “on the fly”. The top running trolley rides on top of the runway beam, with the downhill bridge spanning the bottom flange of the runway beam.

Bridge and design flexibility: Boeing project

The extremely versatile overhead crane system can be designed to be suitable for almost any application. For example, in the case of American Crane working with Boeing, our team built and installed an 80-ton cantilever bridge system without any columns.

The prefabricated modular design of the overhead crane can be easily extended for large operations or business growth. Runway lengths can be added as needed, with additional bridges and individual support components. A single runway system can accommodate multiple bridges to increase productivity and flexibility, and the choice of truss steel rails allows for longer operating spans.

When creating a system for Boeing, the American Crane team took advantage of all of these unique advantages. The final product consisted of 14 interlocking cantilever bridges; 12 of them were suspended in Boeing’s main hangar. The system’s two auxiliary runways are equipped with a cantilever interlocking bridge. This unique design allows the operator to connect up to three adjacent bridges at a time to lift a very wide load.

Overhead bridge crane application

With a wide range of design light crane options and heavy lifting capacity, the overhead crane is ideal for a wide range of applications. Some key  industries include:

  • Metal refining: Overhead cranes can handle raw materials and workpieces at every step of the manufacturing process.
  • Automotive manufacturing: Bridge cranes are essential when dealing with large molds, components and raw materials.
  • Paper Milling: Bridge cranes are used in paper mills for equipment installation, routine maintenance and initial construction of paper machines.
