Directorate of Direct Infectious Disease Control (P2ML)
Directorate of Direct Infectious Disease Control (P2ML) – Directorate General of Disease Control & Environmental Health (P2PL), Ministry of Health of Indonesia, is one of the principle recipients (PR) of HIV AIDS grant from Global Fund for Indonesia. Initially, the fund used to provide antiretroviral drugs for people living with HIV AIDS, to prevent mother-to-child transmission of HIV, to establish counseling and testing centers, training of the health care staff, condoms distribution and program socialization. On the next periods of grant, the initiave of the program includes a massive scale-up of antiretroviral therapy for people living with HIV, prevention activities among commercial sex workers, injecting drug users, MSM and industries whose employes are most likely to buy sex, to provide methadone maintenance treatment and periodic presumptive treatment (PPT) for sexually transmitted infections. While the most current grant is used for diagnosis and treatment of sexually transmitted infections, ART, HIV TB co-infection services and specific health systems strengthening interventions.
During their grant implementation process, P2ML has achieved three times B1 (Adequate) performance rating and once A1 (exceed expectation) performance rating.
