As part of funding mechanism of the Global Fund to fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria (GFATM), each country that claiming financial and technical support from GFATM is required to establish a national multi-sectoral coordinating body.

Thus, the Country Coordinating Mechanism (CCM) Indonesia was founded in 2002. This nationally representatives, multi-sectoral body serves as the source of all proposals submitted to GFATM based on priority needs at the national level as well as conducts oversight for all grants received.

For each grant, CCM nominates one or more public/private organization to serve as the Principal Recipients.
